How a countertop project works

Four steps from your first call to finished tops, and answers to the questions people ask most.

How it works

The four steps

Most kitchens are installed within Three Weeks weeks of measuring. Here's what to expect.

  1. Request an estimate

Send a sketch or rough measurements, or just call. Mike handles every quote himself.

  2. Pick your stone

Visit one of our distributors' showrooms to choose your slab. We'll tell you where to go.

  3. We laser-measure

We take exact digital measurements in your home once cabinets are set.

  4. Fabrication & install

We cut it on our CNC in Waukesha and our own crew installs it in your home.

Common questions

Is the estimate free?

Yes. Send us rough measurements, a sketch or your plans and Mike will put together a quote. Once you choose a stone we confirm the price for that slab.

Where do I pick out my stone?

Slabs are chosen at our distributors' showrooms in the Milwaukee area, where you can see the full slabs in person. We'll tell you which showrooms carry what you're looking for, and they send your selection to us.

Why does the price depend on the slab?

Stone is priced by the slab, and distributor prices change. Your quote is based on current pricing and is good for 30 days.

How do you measure?

We use a digital laser measuring system once your cabinets are installed. The measurements go straight into our drawing software, so your tops are cut to your actual cabinets and walls.

Will I have seams?

Most kitchens have at least one. We plan seam locations before cutting and go over them with you, keeping them out of the most visible spots where we can.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A deposit is due when you approve your quote so we can order your stone, with the balance due at install.

Do you seal the stone?

Natural stone is sealed as part of the job. Ask us about longer-term sealer options for granite and marble.

What do I need to do before install?

Have your cabinets installed and level, your sink and faucet on site (or their model numbers to us), and the old tops removed unless we have agreed to remove them. Plumbing hookup is done by your plumber after install.
